Catalog description
This hands-on course prepares students for entry into construction pre-apprenticeship programs by introducing the core skills and knowledge required for success in the building trades. Students will explore the phases of a construction project; apply foundational math and measurement skills; interpret construction drawings; and safely operate hand and power tools. Through hands-on, lab-based activities, students will practice basic framing, finishing, and concrete work while applying jobsite safety standards. Total of 54 hours lecture and 54 hours laboratory.
