Catalog description

This course introduces students to the foundations of yoga, including its history, ethics, philosophy, and core practices. Students will examine key milestones in the development of yoga, study fundamental concepts of breath and movement, and become familiar with foundational asanas and sequencing principles. The course also provides an overview of the four classical streams of yoga - Raja Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Karma Yoga, and Jnana Yoga. In addition, students will engage with essential ethical guidelines and philosophical teachings that inform both traditional and contemporary yoga practice.
