PRINCIPLES OF RAD IMAGING II

Catalog description

This course introduces the physics of the field of radiologic technology (medical imaging) to the new radiography student. Content establishes a knowledge base in radiographic, fluoroscopic, and mobile diagnostic equipment requirements and design. The content also provides a basic knowledge of quality control for radiographic equipment. Additionally, the students will establish a basic knowledge of atomic structure and terminology. Finally, this course will present content on the nature and characteristics of radiation, x-ray production and the fundamentals of photon interactions with matter. A lab component is included with this course. Prerequisite(s): RADR 1361
