Catalog description

Course Description: This course develops health behavior change counseling skills through theory and practice. Students learn and practice evidence-based motivational interviewing strategies to engage patients in conversations to facilitate healthy changes in the modifiable personal lifestyle factors of the functional medicine matrix (nutrition, exercise & movement, stress, sleep & relaxation, relationships) and integrative health behaviors. Prerequisite: Functional Nutrition I & II
