Catalog description

This course is an overview of modern neuromodulation and neuromodulation techniques. Many define therapeutic neuromodulation as “the alteration of nerve activity through the targeted delivery of a stimulus such as electrical or magnetic stimulation”. This course will introduce the learner to the history, advancement, and applications of neuromodulation techniques. An in-depth study of common neuromodulation techniques such as, but not limited to, transcranial magnetic stimulation and transcranial direct current stimulation will be carried out. The course will emphasize these techniques through weekly journal manuscript readings, “mini lectures” and assigned videos.
