Catalog description
This course introduces elements of medical terminology such as foundations of words used to describe the human body and its conditions, terminology for medical procedures, and names of commonly prescribed medications. Spelling, pronunciation and meanings of terms used in a professional healthcare setting are covered, as is recognition of common abbreviations. Prerequisite course: The designated course must be taken prior to any other HIT/HIM major courses.
