Catalog description

This course builds upon foundational knowledge in anatomy, physiology, neuroscience, and orthopedics, as well as complementary courses like differential diagnosis and functional assessment. In this elective course students will learn comprehensive techniques for evaluating myofascial distortions, identifying underlying biomechanical dysfunctions, and integrating treatment strategies for optimal patient outcomes. Through a combination of hands-on practice, case studies, and evidence-based research, students will demonstrate proficiency in assessing myofascial patterns, understanding contributing factors, and developing individualized treatment options that incorporate biomechanical principles. The course will also explore the integration of the Mulligan technique as a complementary approach to enhance functional joint movement and address musculoskeletal imbalances. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with the knowledge and tools to effectively assess, diagnose, and address myofascial conditions while integrating biomechanical principles for comprehensive patient care. Prerequisite(s): Clinical Orthopedics, Clinical Neurology, and Physical Diagnosis
