Catalog description

Integrative Management of Athletes course curriculum includes establishing an understanding of the role of a Sports Medicine Chiropractor. The goal is to understand the varying forms of a Sports Chiropractor, the duties involved in developing an athlete/team centered approach, and reinforcement of a musculoskeletal assessment in achieving the responsibilities of the Sports Chiropractor. The curriculum presents common sport injuries and topics and allows students to further develop their skills by working towards differential diagnoses, treatment protocols, and return to play guidelines. Thiscourse will also emphasize the development of observation, patient interaction, multi-disciplinary collaboration, critical analysis, and problem-solving skills. Prerequisite(s): co-requisite Differential Diagnosis, Functional Assessment Principles, Physiotherapy II
