Catalog description

This course presents information to the learner so they can guide their patients towards improving their health and achieving optimal level of function. This course is designed to address the internal and external environmental risk factors that contribute most significantly to wellness. The course stresses the health of the whole person. Topics include the current Healthy People initiative, health risk factors, motivational interviewing, health maintenance andpromotion activities. Other wellness topics covered include nutrition, weight management, exercise, tobacco, alcohol, and substance abuse.Prerequisite(s): Public Health, Systems Pathology, Physical Diagnosis, Lab Diagnosis
