Catalog description

This course presents the principles of evidence-based clinical nutrition and introduces the application of the material as it pertains to the chiropractic practice. Topics discussed include basics of nutritional science, standard nutritional guidelines, nutrients and nutrient deficiencies, and nutritional assessment. This course complements courses in the curriculum by presenting and reinforcing disease-specific and population-specific nutritional applications. This course emphasizes the conditions likely to be identified in a chiropractic practice with acknowledgement of appropriate referral and co-management scenarios.Prerequisite(s): Physiology II, General Pathology, Biochemistry II
