This course is the first in a series of five to develop students’ clinical reasoning skills pertaining to the utilization and interpretation of diagnostic imaging studies. Clinical Imaging I focuses on the recognition and understanding of imaging of the axial skeleton and thorax. This includes normal imaging, normal anatomy, roentgenometric assessment, congenital anomalies, normal variants, scoliosis, spondylolisthesis, osseous trauma, and degenerative changes including disc lesions. Although conventional radiographic imaging will be the main imaging modality studied, computerized tomography and magnetic resonance imaging will also be discussed. Additionally, basic principles of film interpretation and report writing will be covered.Prerequisites: Fundamentals of Diagnostic Imaging
