PHYSIOTHERAPY II

Catalog description

Building on the concepts learned in Physiotherapy I, Physiotherapy II focuses on common disorders/injuries and treatment/management including both active and passive functional neuromusculoskeletal rehabilitation. In order to create a patient-centered approach to rehabilitation, motor learning principles and biopsychosocial considerations make-up the framework for this course. Physiotherapy II focuses on muscle strengthening, coordination of movement patterns, core/spine stabilization, and rehabilitation of specific disorders in the spine, pelvis, upper and lower extremities. Aerobic capacity testing and energy system training are presented with considerations for specific patient goals and populations.Prerequisite(s): Physiotherapy I, Clinical Neurology, corequisite Functional Assessment Principles, Differential Diagnosis
