Catalog description
The most widely practiced and researched method in chiropractic is a high-velocitylow-amplitude (HVLA) technique. This course is a continuation of Analysis & Adjusting TechniqueI by building on the foundational concepts and exploringadditional doctor and patient adjusting positions.Students will learn to differentiate between soft tissue and joint restrictions through functional movement and joint assessment paired with reassessment and further development of their motion palpation skills. Students will acquire the core skills needed (knowledge, biomechanics & ergonomics) to select and perform appropriate full spine HVLA adjustments, mobilizations, and other manual therapies. Students will also learn to recognize presentations of some common and complex clinical conditions utilizing the best evidence to begin developingdifferential diagnoses. This course helps students learn todeterminethe appropriateness of associated chiropractic care as well as possible complications arising from,and contraindications to,HVLAadjusting.Prereqsuisite(s): Clinical Biomechanics / Motion Palpation
