Catalog description

This course is designed to give the student a sound educational foundation in the issues of public health. The core curriculum consists of basic public health topics: historical perspective of public health; the purpose, structure, and function of public health organizations; injuries as a community health problem; safety and health in the workplace; environmental factors in disease transmission and inhibition of disease; epidemiology; food and environmental microbiology; social determinants of health and health disparities.Prerequisite(s): Physiology I, Microbiology/Immunology
