Catalog description

Basic physiological principles that underlie normal body function will be explored through an in-depth examination of the underlying chemical and physical mechanisms. This part of the physiology sequence covers the following: mechanisms that regulate the renal, digestive, and endocrine systems, smooth muscle contraction, blood types and hemostasis, body temperature regulation, as well as reproduction. Physiology coursework prepares the graduate student for more advanced study in pathology and the mechanisms of disease. This course has a complementary lab that reinforces the lecture and improves understanding in smaller groups. Prerequisite(s): Physiology I
