Catalog description

This course expands and builds upon the theoretical framework explored in SW520 . Theories of human behavior as they relate to mid-life and aging are addressed. Students are introduced to the impact of life experiences such as trauma, military service, loss, experiencing divorce, and issues relating to retirement and chronic illness. Students are challenged to think more critically about how attention to multiple theories and experiences influences their ability to engage, assess, intervene and evaluate their work with individuals, families, organizations and communities. This course assesses Social Work EPAS Competencies 1,4,7,9.
