Examines the history of the Korean War from pre-hostilities to post-ceasefire, the role of Soviet, American, Chinese, and United Nations intervention, and the trauma of a Korean nation split in half between North and South. The Korean War was the first battleground of the Cold War, the first jet war, and the first “limited war” whose battlefields taught the participants painful lessons. The course will discuss strategic, operational, and tactical strategies. 3:0:3.
