Principles of Risk Management and Patient Safety

Catalog description

This course is an introduction to risk management and patient safety principles and their application. Students will analyze risk management incidents (as well as recognize potential issues); and learn how to identify methodologies used to maintain and improve quality and safety in healthcare. This course explores quality assurance measures including Total Quality Management, Continuous Quality Improvement, and the Joint Commission standards. Note: will fulfill HC463 in older audits.
