Catalog description
Students will be paired with a trained RN preceptor over the course of nine weeks. The student will negotiate with her/his preceptor for a schedule and work with the preceptor and his/her assignments. The preceptor will orient the student to the floor/unit and the routine at the facility. The student will work toward the ability to take a full RN assignment with the preceptor's approval. The preceptor handbook will be given to each preceptor assigned to a student. The assigned instructor will evaluate the student's performance with feedback from the preceptor and a PASS/FAIL grade will be given. QSEN competencies will be used. Students will also complete acommunity mass casualty project as a part of the course. This course is a course only included in the Associate Degree in Nursing (RN) Program. This course if offered as pass/no pass and face to face only.
