Catalog description
A comparative introduction to the development of cultures in Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia. This course surveys the historical developments of global societies, major social, political and economic ideas and institutions from their origins until the 16th century. Topics include the origins of world civilizations, the classical world from a global perspective, the evolution of political systems and the early development of international trade. Includes a comparative discussion of world religions.
