Catalog description

This course will provide the student with exposure to bioethics in contemporary medicine and health care. The course will examine the complex cultural, medical, ethical, political, and philosophical issues integral to bioethics and primary care as well as the modern bioethical frameworks and philosophical arguments used to support bioethical positions. Topics shall include shared decision-making, patient autonomy, informed consent, advanced directives, life stages, quality assurance and safety, as well as emerging technologies. Admittance to MBS program or permission of the MBS director is required.
