Catalog description

This course will summarize foundational concepts, history, philosophy, and methodologies underlying public and community health. The course will cover biostatistics, epidemiology, social determinants of health, health disparities and equity, rural and vulnerable populations, global health, environmental health, and lifestyle impact on health. Health promotion, top causes of morbidity and mortality, communicable diseases, prevention and intervention, as well as program planning will be addressed.
