Catalog description

A practical and theoretical study of marginalized voices in the past and present literatures of Spain & Cuba. This course focuses on writers and works that give voice to those whose ethnic or gender identities, religion, social and economic class place them on the edge of society and its power structures. This is a bilingual course with lectures, readings and discussions in English. Students who are majoring or minoring in Spanish will be expected to complete readings and assignments in Spanish.
