Catalog description

Principles of management will be presented and applied to personnel in OT services in the context of current health care delivery systems. The focus is on organizational structure, needs assessment, program design, marketing, methods of reimbursement, and budgeting to implement new programs that promote participation and occupational performance. Students define their roles as a team leader, supervisor, manager, and client advocate. Course will include discussion of role division of OTR and COTA duties and may provide opportunity for collaboration with OTA program. Prerequisite: Admission to the Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program and successful completion of previous trimester coursework.
