Media Literacies.

Catalog description

Students will be introduced to different ways of reading and analyzing media objects, learning to discern the conditions and limits of various media from multiple vantage points and methodological frameworks, including those of political economy, science, ecology, global history, and arts and letters. Students will also undertake various compositional “experiments” that will allow them to discover the surprising ways in which we, so far from expressing ourselves through our media, become instead impressed by them. Required for Media Art and Production majors.
