Catalog description

This is a hands-on lab course in which students learn to promote designated projects for clients using various means including paid, owned, and earned media. Students will become familiar with audio, video and streaming tools, as well as relevant forms of social media advertising platforms and digital marketing strategies to accomplish the course learning objectives primarily focused on audience-building, data analytics, measurement and evaluation of the effectiveness of various tactics and strategies used in media promotion. Program faculty designate various clients for student media promotion efforts, some of which may include recording artists, regional organizations, and upcoming live events such as concerts, recitals, lectures, either on campus or in the community. Prerequisites: Sophomore standing.
