MHIS 254 . Topics in Nineteenth-Century Music. 3 units. Students study music topics from the nineteenth century that cover a broad spectrum of repertory. Students examine common issues of the nineteenth century through the lens of particular repertories, composers, and/or genres, e.g. Lied and Song Cycles, Nationalism, or fin-de-siecle Vienna. See program director for specific topics in a given semester. Graduate standing.
