Catalog description

This course examines the interaction between sport and business outside of the United States. Globalization and its underlying forces are explored as are the manners in which sport and these global forces interact. The course provides an overview of the governance, labor, events, and facilities used to conduct global sport business. Attention will be given to the unique ways in which athletes and teams are used in the marketing process as well as the economic impact of global sporting events like the Olympics and the World Cup.
