This course seeks to answer the following question: What were and are the sexual revolutions that legitimized gender variance and non- normative sexualities and sexual decisions? Who was at the forefront and the margins of these movements and what were the impacts in medical, educational, governmental, and other sectors? What kinds of comparisons can be made across countries, within regions, and/or in urban versus rural areas? What is the transnational nature of sexual revolutions?
