Catalog description

Students will learn about histories of feminist resistance and how feminist, gender, and sexuality studies are a part of those histories. Topics may include: histories of both dominant and insurgent feminist activism in New York City, Pleasantville, and the surrounding area, the U.S., or North America/Turtle Island; debates among feminist scholars and activists in articulating feminist studies and practice; and the role of so-called “western” feminisms in shaping and being shaped by the concept of the “west".
