Catalog description
This course will provide secondary pre-service teachers with the knowledge of and practice in secondary teaching skills appropriate for students with diverse needs and levels of literacy and English language acquisition. Topics included are: classroom community building, classroom management, instructional planning, assessment, evaluation, grading and strategies for enhancing discussion, cooperative learning, using technology and interdisciplinary teaching. Field experience/ Apprenticeship required. This course is required of all students seeking an Adolescent or Middle Childhood teaching certificate through a Pace program. Restrictions/Requirements: Admission into the School of Education.
