Catalog description
This course is organized to explore the relationships that exist between social behavior and spatial structure. The cultural concept of place is explored phenomenologically. The course looks at the historical and contemporary accounts of the formation and structure of urban and suburban space, including geography, public space and urban planning. The course concludes with several case studies of space and place in the contemporary city.
