Catalog description

This course is a practical, hands-on examination of the writer-editor relationship in action. The conceit of the class will be the creation of a theoretical anthology of short stories, each one a modern adaptation of a classic fairy tale, folk tale, or myth. Students will be crafting their own short story pitches, synopses, drafts, and revisions. They will also, in turn, act as editors on one another’s work, all of which will be used as a framework for discussing the overall editorial process.
