The goal of the Lab is to complement instruction within PSY759 in which students are learning the basics and infant and early childhood assessment: including, conducting parent interviews, administering developmental assessment batteries (e.g., The Bayle Scales of Infant and Toddler Development, 4th Edition and the Ages and Stages Questionnaire – 2nd Edition) observing parent-infant play evaluations, and assessing infant and toddler psychodiagnostics (DC:0–5 Diagnostic Classification of Mental Health and Developmental Disorders of Infancy and Early Childhood), In addition, activities (e.g., supervision activities; webinars) to supplement student understanding of scoring, administration and interpretation are integral to the Lab. Students can expect to discuss their experiences with various lab activities within the context of class.
