Catalog description
This course examines public opinion in American politics and how to measure it. We will discuss how people make decisions and form their opinions, including the influence of bias, ethnocentrism, and cultural norms. We will also examine how opinion and belief can be influenced through framing and suggestion, and how to account for those influences in survey research. The second half of the semester will teach students how to create and distribute their own surveys. This section includes information about proper survey design, sampling, question wording, and how to read and understand survey results. Credit Badge: Data Science.
