Catalog description

This course will examine diverse representations of philosophical perspectives "from margin to center," including but not limited to Africana philosophy, Disability Studies, Latin-American Philosophy, Feminist Theory, and Queer Theory, through a phenomenological lens in order to examine the relation between self, social experience, and social norms, including the critique of the social presuppositions at stake in such a relation. In doing so, this course will invite students into ways of doing philosophy, as well as approaching political activism.
