Catalog description

This course introduces the fundamentals of entertainment lighting and sound with an emphasis on communication, coordination, and execution within a production environment. Students will develop a working visual and sonic vocabulary, learn accepted industry practices, and gain hands-on experience with the tools and paperwork that are used by and support the lighting and sound departments. The course focuses on comprehension of design intent, department needs throughout the technical processes, and working with and communicating about lighting and sound in rehearsals, technical rehearsals, and performances.
