Catalog description

This course explores global theater tradition, history, and performance in post-colonial societies. Students study cultures/countries around the world for the purpose of investigating nonEurocentric cultural perspectives, race and post-colonial identity, Ongoing issues of colonialization, the contributions and agency of the indigenous cultures, artistic fusion and appropriation, and basic comprehension of actor-audience relationships in live theater.
