Catalog description

This course is a practical experience focusing on developing the choreographer’s creative process, aesthetic and voice. Basic dance-making tools will be introduced each week and explored through specific assignments. Emphasis will be placed on utilizing a variety of source material to create pieces of choreography that explore different motivations and dance styles along with choreographic devices introduced throughout the course, Additional attention will be given to helping cultivate skills in objective analysis of choreographic structures explored in class as well and understanding their compositional function.
