Catalog description
The purpose of this course is to provide the advanced practice nurse with the knowledge and skills to teach and mentor diverse populations of clients and health professionals using equitable, person-centered, evidence-based primary health care practices. Course content includes teaching and learning philosophy and theory, specific evidence-based strategies to facilitate learning by recognizing the influence of diverse backgrounds on learning styles, the historical development of teaching and learning practices, and the evaluation of learning outcomes. In addition, emphasis is given to knowledge and skills needed to function as a mentor in primary health care settings.
