Health Policy, Economics for Advanced Practice Nursing

Catalog description
This course is designed to provide an overview of health care economics and finance, health policy, and political advocacy for the provision of evidence-based, equitable, person-centered, primary health care in advanced practice nursing. Key policy and economic issues will be presented within the framework of healthcare delivery systems and organizations. The evaluation of their impact on health and equity among diverse populations will be addressed. Special emphasis will be placed on the role of advanced practice nursing and its impact on health-in-all policies and health for all, in particular, striving for social justice and equity for vulnerable populations.
