Catalog description

Clinical Practicum I. The practicum builds upon the student's proficiency in comprehensive health evaluation across the lifespan within the context of family, community and culture. Using and evidence-based practice framework the student will apply health promotion, disease prevention and screening recommendations, and access and manage most common acute chronic illnesses. Students will demonstrate knowledge of advanced pathophysiology, and pharmacologic interventions according to current standards of care across the lifespan in primary health care clinical settings while learning the family nurse practitioner's role and responsibilities in the provision of patient centered, ethical, culturally competent care. Restriction/Requirement: Health clearance required
