In this senior capstone course, students focus on achieving competency as a novice professional nurse and successfully transitioning to professional nursing practice. Personal, professional, and leadership development after transition to professional practice is emphasized. Students explore regulatory and quality organizations that impact and structure the healthcare and nursing environment. Students identify healthcare organization factors that influence the nursing care environment. Emphasis is placed on preparation for successful employment as a professional nurse and professional nursing practice. Clinical experiences occur in a variety of settings.
