Advanced Digital Photography & Visual Expression

Catalog description

This course will advance students to greater depth in creative vision and technical image production skills. Students will acquire the skills needed to create and sustain long-term body of work engage in a series of assignments designed to question our understanding of how to best communicate photographically. Students will be introduced to scanning, larger-scale printing, flash and studio lighting and trends in contemporary photography. Students will enlarge their creative potential through critiques, discussions, readings, and gallery visits. Class discussions and assignments will address and consider how students currently create and consume images, and thereby explore the influence of images on their lives.
