This course equips students with the necessary skills to evaluate, interpret, and engage with news and information in the Digital Era. In a media environment where technologies grow rapidly and falsehoods often spread faster than the truth, individuals face increasing challenges in acquiring reliable and trustworthy information. Through guided practice and critical analysis, students in this course will explore how news is produced and disseminated, while learning to distinguish between various forms of false content, including misinformation, disinformation, mal-information, and fake news. They will be equipped with the tools to navigate the complex digital landscape, strengthen their critical thinking abilities, and develop skills to assess information obtained through diverse platforms, thus becoming more responsible participants in today’s information ecosystem.
