Introductory Statistics for the Life Sciences

Catalog description

This course provides a non-calculus based introduction to statistics, with a focus on applications in the life sciences: biology, chemistry and health care. Topics covered include data gathering, numerical and graphical data summaries, elementary probability, binomial, normal and sampling distributions, confidence intervals hypothesis testing, regression and correlation, analysis of variance, and non parametric statistics. This course includes the use of technology. MAT 141 is not open to a student who has received credit for MAT 117 , MAT 134 , MAT 142, MAT 143, or MAT 234 . This course is only open to Dyson Science Majors.
