Catalog description

A survey of the literatures and cultures of people belonging to lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, plus (LGBTQ+) more communities who express our human diversity in terms of gender and sexuality, after the millennium. While our course takes the 1969 Stonewall uprising in NYC as the historic origin point for our dominant modes of recognizing LGBTQ+ identities, our class readings and research questions may certainly involve other places and times, not limited to 20th- or 21st-century America.
