Catalog description
The focus of this course is to provide a perspective of Italian society through a general but accurate overview of Italian history and a critical analysis of it representation through films from the post World War II period to the present. In addition to the screening of relevant classic Italian movies, the first weeks of the course will also include lectures on a panoramic view of ancient, medieval, and Renaissance Italy. The movies selected will off a unique opportunity to analyze and discuss crucial issues related to the historical, political, and cultural evolution of Italy from the post war period to the present. Restrictions/Requirements: 6 credits of Intermediate Italian. Taught entirely in Italian
