This travel course examines the relationship between ecology and folklore in Hawaii and New York, highlighting how native plants, animals, geology, and cultural narratives intertwine. Students will explore Indigenous knowledge systems, engage in fieldwork and civic engagement activities in New York City and in Hawaii, and analyze how natural landscapes influence cultural identity.
