Capstone Practicum in Environmental Studies and Science

Catalog description
This capstone course offers students the opportunity to engage in focused, faculty-mentored research on pressing environmental issues. Students will select a faculty advisor and join an interdisciplinary research project, contributing to the design, implementation, and analysis of original research. Projects may address topics such as climate change, environmental justice, urban ecology, sustainability, conservation, or policy evaluation. Emphasis is placed on developing research questions, refining methodologies, collecting and analyzing data, and communicating findings in both written and oral formats. The practicum culminates in a formal research paper or equivalent scholarly output, preparing students for graduate study or professional work in the environmental field.
